Penny Peek Bio
Penny Peek has been teaching music at J.W. Webb Elementary School since 2005. She is
a dedicated educator of all students and served on the TEKS state adoption committee in 2011-
12 and is well versed in the new TEKS. She has been recognized as Teacher of the Year and has
received multiple music and educational grants for her students. An active member of TMEA,
Ms. Peek also serves on her campus as a member of the Instructional Leadership Team and is
the Elementary Music Coordinator for McKinney ISD.
Ms. Peek holds both a Bachelors and a Masters Degree in Music Education. She is an
established leader on her campus, district, and region. Her personality is demonstrated
best by having the “You never fail until you stop trying,” attitude. Her leadership skills are
grounded in communication abilities, mixed with a positive attitude. Working with diverse
families allows Penny to help students discover new things they sometimes would not have the
resources, opportunity or background knowledge to experience, thereby enhancing their
educational success. She is dedicated to teaching the whole child and changing the world by
keeping the kids involved in their education. Her students sing, play, read, write, move, listen
and create every day and know they are “making music”!
On a personal note, Ms. Peek loves pigs, traveling, reading, gardening and lighthouses!
