Johanna Brubaker Bio
Welcome! This will be my 18th-year as an educator and my sixth year at Walker Elementary. After graduating from Duncanville High School, I completed my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology at Louisiana State University. To continue my education, I enrolled in the Teach Baton Rouge program serving in Title 1 schools in East Baton Rouge Parish for 2 years while earning my teaching certificate. Since then, I have been highly certified to teach in three states: Louisiana, North Carolina, and Texas. I have taught grades K – 8 covering a variety of subjects, and in both the public and the private sector. This year I’ll be teaching Science. I LOVE teaching science because we get to explore our curiosities creatively. Supporting students to be able to express their creative problem solving through experimentation is one of my goals.
