Jennifer Harrison Bio
Jennifer Harrison has served as assistant principal at McNeil Elementary for the past five years and brings 15 years of experience in education to her new role as principal of McClure.
“We have been really fortunate to watch Jennifer grow as a leader through the variety of roles that she’s already had in the district,” said Suzy Woodard, Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Student Support. “She’s been an instructional coach and an assistant principal and has been instrumental in developing programs that impact students. She has experience with special education, and she is a leader among her peers. Jennifer is dynamic and kind and wants everybody to be successful—kids, teachers and parents.”
Harrison began her career in 2005 as an elementary classroom teacher, serving first in Garland ISD and then in Allen ISD. In 2014, she joined the staff at Minshew Elementary as an Instructional Coach and then moved into campus administration during the 2015–2016 school year as the assistant principal of McNeil Elementary.
“I am extremely grateful for my time serving the McNeil community and have learned so much about being a servant leader from [Principal] Tracy Meador,” said Harrison. “McNeil values a family culture, and I will always cherish my time with the amazing staff, students and parents at McNeil.
“I am excited to join the Marshal family,” she said, “and look forward to partnering with Heather Piñero to serve our McClure students, staff and parents. I am so grateful for this opportunity to continue the amazing work in place at McClure to support all students.”
Harrison earned her bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies from Texas State University and her master’s degree in educational leadership from Concordia University.
