When does my child go to the library?
Our library operates on a flexible schedule. The students are allowed to come to the library as they need new books to read.

What do I do when my child is absent?
Written documentation must be received within three days of the absence for it to be excused.  Either send it in with your child when he/she returns to school or e-mail Lisa Taylor at ltaylor@mckinneyisd.net .

If your child arrives after 9:15 a.m. they must have a doctor’s note not to be counted absent.

If your child leaves for the day after 9:15  a.m. they will be counted present for that day. As long as a child is in the building at 9:15 they are considered present.

How do I pay for my child’s lunch?
Each child has a lunch card in the cafeteria. You can add money to their account as needed all year. You may come to school and pay the cafeteria manager personally, send to money to the front office or send the money to your child’s teacher. If you are writing a check make it payable to Glen Oaks Elementary and be sure to put your child’s name and id number on the memo line.

If you wish to make online payments, please visit www.myschoolbucks.com to create an account.  You will need your student’s 6 digit ID.  Any money that was in a student’s account at the end of school was transferred to the new system.  If you have any questions about your student’s balance please contact Aramark Food Services office at (469) 302-4263.

Can I send in cupcakes for my child’s birthday?
Due to state and district regulations, parents can not send in cupcakes for their child’s birthday.  Opt for sending in small tokens like stickers, pencils, etc.

Can I send in birthday invitations with my child?
Unless each student in the class is invited, the school does not permit students to bring birthday invitations to school for home parties.  See the Glen Oaks Student Handbook for further information.
