Suzanne Smith Bio

Hi Wildcats! I was raised in Plano and after graduating from Plano Senior High School, I went to Baylor University. SIC ‘EM BEARS! I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education in 1993 and began teaching right away. I taught special education for three years in Killeen, Texas before coming to McKinney, where I have been ever since. 2015 marks my twentieth year with the Special Populations department with McKinney ISD. During that time I had the opportunity to further my higher education and received a Masters in Education specializing in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas A&M University Commerce. I am certified to teach special education and general education, as well as English language learners participating in English as a Second Language programs.

I sincerely have a special place in my heart for learners with exceptionalities. It is such an honor to share in each and every success that takes place in both ALC and throughout Eddins environment with these extraordinary children. Special education is a dynamic, energetic, fun, demanding, changing field. It is a magnificent place to learn and grow, teachers and students alike.

My husband, son, and I have a beautiful home here in the area. While I’m not spending time with your angels I enjoy being a hockey mom, attending Allen Americans and Dallas Stars games, and spending time with my extended family all of which live within a few hours drive from the DFW area. Children and family are everything to me!
