Sharon Havard Bio
As many of you know, I’m a huge Texas Tech fan where I received my Bachelor of Science degree. Go Red Raiders! My Master of Education degree was earned from the University of North Texas so I guess you can also say that I’m an Eagle’s fan as well! My husband and I have a beautiful daughter, son-in-law, son and two granddaughters.
I began my professional career in 1987. I look back at the years spent in teaching and administration and am extremely grateful for the opportunities that I’ve had to work with some amazing students and adults! My career began teaching 1st grade in Slaton, Texas. I then taught 3rd grade in both Lubbock and El Paso before leading a H.O.S.T.S. (Helping One Student to Succeed) classroom. I then moved back to Richardson where I taught 4th grade and then taught 5th and 2nd grade in Plano ISD. I found my home in McKinney in 2001 and have loved working in McKinney as an Assistant Principal and Principal. As you can see, I love working with elementary-age students and have really enjoyed getting to work more with both staff and parents in an administrative role. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for me in this profession!
