Heather Tambasco

Lead Special Education Teacher/ Resource Teacher

Heather Tambasco Bio

I graduated from Le Moyne College, a small private school in upstate New York, with a BA in psychology and a minor in human resources. Initially, I didn’t plan on going into teaching, but decided to go in that direction shortly thereafter. I am certified to teach in both special and general education classrooms.

I started in McKinney ISD in 2001 and have been teaching special education students ever since. I began working with DSSC (developmental social skills curriculum) students for my first two years at Eddins Elementary. After, I decided to try my hand at teaching resource students. I shared my day between McNeil, Valley Creek and Wolford Elementary teaching resource students over the next 3 years.   I was able to work with some great resource teachers and administrators in the district, which allowed me to develop and grow at my craft. In 2006, I was offered the Lead Special Ed teaching position at Eddins Elementary and I have been there ever since.

I truly have a passion for our special learner students.   It is such a reward to see the growth my students make on a daily basis and share in their successes. It is so wonderful to see students feel confident and good about their learning. My goal is to make students believe in themselves and be a lifelong learner.
