Denise Silver

Art Teacher/Team Leader

Denise Silver Bio

I am an honors graduate from Delaware State University with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Art Education. I am certified to teach art levels Kindergarten through 12th grade.

My art teaching career began in Manassas, Virginia at Weems Elementary, where I taught art, kindergarten through sixth-grade for two years. My husband and I then decided to start our family and for the next 9 years I was a stay at home mother of three children. During that time I attended graduate classes at the University of Virginia to keep current with my credentials. I also gave private drawing and painting lessons to elementary through high school age students. I returned to full-time teaching in 1999 where I taught first grade at a private school in Reston, Virginia.

In 2000 my husband’s career brought us to North Texas. Through our research we realized that McKinney would be the best place for our children’s education. I was hired as the art teacher at Caldwell Elementary in McKinney, where I enjoyed working for three years. In 2003, I transferred to Eddins Elementary and brought my son Josh with me to finish his elementary education. I am very happy in my current position at Eddins and continue to grow personally and professionally.
